God Is Food – hunh? What does this mean?

Jesus said, “I am the Bread of Life.…I am the living bread which came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this Bread, he shall live forever….He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life….It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.” (Excerpts from John 6 Recovery Version)

Q: How do we eat bread made with flour and other ingredients?

A: With our mouth.

Q: How do we eat Jesus Christ?

A: With our mouth.

With our mouth we call on the Lord unto salvation. We may say, “Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” Or “Jesus is Lord!” or “Oh, Lord Jesus!”

We meditate on His words. This is chewing the Bread. We speak His words out loud to get the most out of them. We speak them to ourselves or to others and these words feed our souls. We join with others and speak the words of God the Father and of Christ to one another to build us up in Christ and to deposit Christ into us.
